Therapy is simply about helping people to live their best lives…now.
No matter what we’ve been through or how we grew up, our past experiences have resulted in different default modes of being. Often these different modes of being were reasonable and useful for adapting to different environments and situations. Inevitably we will encounter new scenarios that require us to adjust and behave differently. When we don’t, we feel “stuck”.
Therapy isn’t just about remembering our past, it’s about enabling our future.
Through regular dialogue, I try to help people identify how theses past modes of operating were learned automatically, but now need to be identified and updated. This discovery process helps people to be more intentional about the patterns they implement to bring them forward. The future becomes a choice.
